The auto insurance cost for women is oftentimes significantly more affordable compared to men. Most providers believe that girls are more careful on the road therefore less likely to file a claim.

While this may seem unfair to men, studies show that women simply pose less of a financial risk to the insurer, and they are rewarded for it thru additional discount. Women are not only far less likely to be involved in a collision or fender bender, but they actually take better care of their cars.

The official record shows that most women only have one or two record of traffic violations while men usually have more than 3 violations. Almost for everyone, age really does matter most of the time. Young ones don’t want to listen as they think they know better than anyone else around them. Young girls aged 18-22 have more road accidents than ladies over 25. Aside from the maturity, perhaps it’s also true that most things come with the experience.

Married women can make use of the “Insured and Partner” policies to get equal discounts for their spouse. Mostly, women pay up to 30% less compared to men with similar records. But after a few years when drivers age and built their own driving records, there is already not much difference in premiums between men and women. Responsible drivers pay less while bad drivers will eventually pay more.

Being pregnant does make any difference in premiums however we would like to post some safety measures for pregnant drivers or passengers. Many of the following tips are the usual things anyway, but while pregnant, it’s particularly important to double-check safety on the road.

SAFETY FIRST. Collision and bodily injury coverage in particular should be at the top of your priorities list.

SEATBELT. Pregnant women should rest the waist strap below the baby bump, not across it. The shoulder strap should also be comfortably across your chest. This will most likely save you and your baby in case of a collision.

POSITION. Position yourself at least 10 inches away from the steering wheel as it’s the safe distance if the air bag deploys. Though the distance should be at least 10 inches, you have to make sure as well that you can still drive safely and comfortably when doing so. Also, pulling over for a couple of minutes to stretch your legs can help you keep a healthy body circulation.

AVOID NIGHT-DRIVING. Night driving is more dangerous not just for pregnant women. It reduces visibility, increases the chance of encountering a drunk driver, and can lead for your body to more stressed out.

RIGHT FOOD. It’s a must to avoid eating unhealthy food to keep your blood sugar at a healthy level especially if you’re pregnant. By eating before you leave the house or packing some healthy snacks for the road, this helps you avoid greasy drive-thrus to keep your blood sugar at a healthy level.

For the last 60 years auto recyclers, otherwise known as auto wreckers or auto dismantlers with their junkyards and salvage yards, have played an important role in the economy and environment. More and more car owners are turning to used auto parts rather than new car parts for their car maintenance and repair needs, for several reasons:

· Purchasing used auto parts instead of new car parts allows you to save money by about 55% on average.

· Purchasing used car parts means that you have a wider selection in the used parts market from which to pick the right car part that specifically meets the fit, functionality and quality requirement of your current car and car parts.

· By purchasing used auto parts you are helping to lessen the pollution to the environment. Automotive recycling plays an important role in conserving natural resources and minimizing the demand on scarce landfill space. Other then lessening the negative impact on natural resources, Automotive recycling plays a major role in reducing water pollution, air pollution and solid waste generation.

Guide to Buying Used Auto Parts from Auto Recyclers

Keeping your car roadworthy can be a very expensive undertaking these days, especially with today’s tough economic climate making it more difficult for many people to earn and save money. But by using used auto parts, not only can you save money, you can also help conserve natural resources, and still get the correct specified parts for your car. For these reason, thousands of people every year elect to purchase used car parts.

With this increase in demand, the internet has become an ideal vehicle in bringing the buyers and sellers of used auto parts together. Before you make your used car parts purchase online, here is a general guide to assist you in choosing the right auto parts at the best price.

· Whenever you purchase a car part, make sure you have your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) handy. This number can provide the seller with a lot of information about your car, including the year, make and model. Having your VIN available is especially important when purchasing drive train components such as engines and transmissions.

· Make sure the company from which you are buying the auto part offers a warranty on the part. Make sure you read and understand the terms of that warranty before making the purchase.

· Find out how many miles are on the auto part, and find out whether the part is being sold as used, rebuilt or remanufactured.

You do not want to fool around when choosing a mechanic for your car. Keep an ear open for recommendations and warnings when your friends and family have car troubles. If you know beforehand of a body shop you feel comfortable with, you will not need to make a rushed or incomplete decision when you need one.

Ask friends and associates for their recommendations. I stay in touch with home schooling families. They are often part of a larger group that can share recommendations for mechanics they have felt were honest and reputable.

Check with your local Better Business Bureau regarding the reputation of a particular body shop. Ask about the number of complaints, if there were any, and how the complaints were resolved. Do not be too anxious if there were some complaints. No one pleases everybody, and there are some people you ca not satisfy no matter what. But if you see a pattern of the same kinds of problems, beware.

Next, pay a visit to the shop and ask if they handle your vehicle make and model. Check to see how long they have been in business. What kind of feel do you get about the place? Are you treated with courtesy? Does the staff behave professionally?

You do not need to white glove test the place, but it should be neat, and organized. Also, times are changing, and modern equipment is an absolute must.

Sometimes, vehicle manufacturers recommend specific repair procedures and tools for the repair of their vehicles. Ask if the shop is trained in these procedures and has the necessary equipment.

Are there any civic and community service awards hanging on the walls? It is a nice touch. Do you see diplomas or certificates of competence? You want a technically competent staff.

Look around the place. What kinds of vehicles seem to be in the repair stage? Does everything look like it is being handled professionally? Do not be shy about talking to folks in the waiting room to see they have tried the shop before and how pleased they are with the service they have received in the past.

My number one suggestion is to ask around and see where others have had satisfactory car repair work done. Even if you are feeling stressed and in a hurry ask at least 15 people. That way, you are likely to get the same place mentioned more than once. A little time spent on the basics can save you a load of trouble in the long run. And once you find mechanic you trust, your cars future looks a lot brighter.

Chevrolet, the name itself is part of the American heritage. As a manufacturer, they have long been both the largest and most popular vehicle from a company right here at home. For those who drive them, there is no question about the statement you make with that Chevy sports car, or that big GMC truck.

Along with being popular on their history alone, Chevrolet is one company that makes vehicles that are easy to customize. In fact, there is no other manufacturer out there that has such a wide range of aftermarket parts available for their vehicles. With this variety comes a problem though.

Choosing how to customize your Chevrolet vehicle can be quite intimidating. To help you get started, with a new look for your vehicle we have put together this guide to choosing Chevy body kits.

It isn’t that any kit won’t do. But, understanding a bit about body kits, will help you to make a better choice. By choosing the right kit for your car (or truck) you’ll end up with a look that you love and a body kit that stays with your vehicle for its usable lifespan.

Chevy Body Kits: 6 Tips

To give your Chevrolet a new look, a body kit is a great start. No other element so quickly changes the look of your car. Choosing the right kit however, can be difficult. To help you out here are 6 things to consider before you order a body kit for your Chevy vehicle.

1. Make Year and Model: Obviously you’ll want to order a kit made for your specific vehicle. This may seem like a no-brainer, but many people order the wrong kit thinking they can customize it to fit. Ensure you order an aftermarket kit that is made to fit your specific vehicle. This will make the whole process much easier.

2. Material the Kit is made Of: There are two basic materials that body kits are made out of: fibreglass and urethane. Urethane is more dent resistant, but if it gets broken it cannot be repaired. Fibreglass on the other hand, will break easier, but can also be repaired. For most people fibreglass is the better choice, but Urethane can also be a good choice if you tend to get a little too close when you drive.

3. The Look You’re Going for: Another consideration is will a body kit fit with the look you want. If you’re lifting a truck, for example, you wouldn’t want the side skirts with your kit. It wouldn’t look right. On the other hand if you lowered that same truck, your vehicle wouldn’t look right without the side skirts.

4. What the Kit Will Look Like: An easy way to begin searching for your kit is to simply look at pictures of them installed. Check out lists of Chevy body kits, on sites like our own, or on the actual manufacturer’s websites to really determine what the finished look will be.

5. Painting your Chevy Body Kit: Another consideration is how you will be painting the kit. Will you be painting it yourself or having a body shop do it? Will the kit be installed and the whole car painted? Or, will it be painted first and then installed. A fibreglass kit is easier to paint, and if you plan on painting it yourself, or installing it with paint already on, these particular kits will be easier to work with.

6. Installation Considerations: Finally you there are a couple of installation considerations before you order your kit. First you need to ensure that the kit comes with the hardware to install it. If it doesn’t, order it with the kit. You also need to consider any extra parts you may need. For example some body kits require a dual exhaust. If your current car only has a single exhaust you may need extra parts to make the body kit work.

By considering these factors before purchasing your body kit you enable yourself to make a more informed decision. You’re also more likely to choose a kit that will look good and last for years to come!

Although your sports car may take scratches and beatings, accidents sometimes happen. When they happen, the car owner must decide where to take it for body repair. Finding a reliable quality body shop you can trust is a good idea. You always want to make sure that your car will be fixed to the way it looked before the accident.

As with other services, there are either awesome providers or really bad providers. Most providers fall in between those categories. Looking at, the important ness of a sports car to a motor lover, it seems rational to find the best care for your baby.

The first rule is how well the shop is known for its business. Talk to other sports car owners, your mechanic and others to find the shop that’s right for your sports car. A really good shop will be known by everyone in town. Someone should stay far away from shops that don’t have a good word about them. Don’t be drawn to a shop just because of its big sign. So instead seek out other knowledge of experts who know of master body shops.

The second rule is your thinking of there work. Any shop should be happy to show you there current projects or cars they are working on. By looking at their actual work, you will be able to make the decision of if they can get the job done and done right. If you think that their work isn’t good enough and looks off, you can imagine what your car would look like if you let them work on it.

The last rule is how firmly a body shop will stand behind what it has done. Bodywork can usually be finished in a way that will last forever, and a great shop should believe in what they can do for you. Ask the shop if they have any guarantees that they may have in case they don’t fix your ride to the potential you know can be done. A shop owner who doesn’t seem to believe in what they can do is probably a bad choice.

A car is always an investment, and is most always a love. It only makes good sense that a well known repair man will be taking car of your ride during an accident repair. Accidents happen, but there is no reason why you should be able to get the best possible repairs as you can go out and find the shop you need today.
